Okay, It's came to my knowledge that there is a channel supporting porn websites on swiftIRC, Should it be banned? or should it be allowed?
Hutchins has informed me that this is allowed

Should swiftIRC end up like quake.net and other servers flooded with Adult fling channels, Porn channels etc for minors to see?

Do you ask google if they should allow or disallow their users to find porn? No.
I personally do not think we are providing anything that people cannot easily find themselves.

The users that are exposed to pornography view it under their own free will, they are not forced. We do often spamfilter links that are spammed and advertised. We should not have to monitor each channel to check wether they are giving out porn links or not. These are private channels for private use. I'll also add that we have numerous commands and modes to stop the distribution of such material, it is up to the channel owner or users wether or not they chose to enforce those. People will find pornography anywhere they look. Anything we do won't stop this.

People will find pornography anywhere they look. Anything we do won't stop this. If the channel is allowed on the server and for minors to view the channel/links you are supporting it/allowing it. You say you spam-filter some channels advertised? but yet you allow a porn channel advertising many links to go ahead?

I don't think it's illegal to see the LINK of a porn site. If they choose to click it, it's their fault. SwiftIRC's not the one breaking any laws.

Non the less it still shouldn't be on the server. There are certain servers for this stuff. SwiftIRC shouldn't be one due to the fact that 80% of our users are underage and shouldn't be viewing porn or given the option too.
